When I started my photography business over a decade ago, I never could have imagined where the journey would lead me. I’ve photographed hundreds of love stories, grown a thriving brand, and—like many of you—hit some serious walls along the way. From my early days as an art teacher to running a successful wedding photography business to now building tools for other creatives, one thing has always been clear: I’m passionate about helping photographers grow.
Today, I want to share a little more about who I am, why I care so deeply about this industry, and where I’m headed next.
A Creative Heart With a Business Mind
Before I was a full-time photographer, I was an art teacher. I loved helping others explore their creativity and discover how to express their unique perspective. That passion never left—it simply evolved. Over the years, I found a different way to share my love of art: through the lens.
When I launched my wedding photography business, I poured my heart into every detail. I loved creating images that felt like art, capturing real moments with intentional storytelling. I was always striving to grow, improve, and refine both my style and my systems.
Here’s a little then-and-now for fun:

The Chaos, the Comeback, and the Cost of Doing It All
2019 was one of the most successful years of my photography career. I was fully booked, consistently improving, and finally hitting my stride. Then came 2020. In March, I had a baby—and just weeks later, the world shut down.
COVID hit wedding photographers hard. Events were canceled. Inquiries stopped. Everything I had built suddenly felt fragile. And while I eventually found my footing again, it wasn’t easy.
Like many of you, I was wearing all the hats—photographer, editor, marketer, admin, mom. And it just wasn’t sustainable. Running a business, caring for two young kids, and trying to keep up with the pace I had set before the pandemic left me completely burned out.
And that’s when I realized: I needed to approach my business—and my life—differently.
“Burnout isn’t a failure—sometimes it’s the spark that leads to something greater.”
Why I’m Helping Photographers Grow Now
Burnout didn’t mean the end of my business. It became a turning point.
I’m a competitive person by nature. I love a challenge. I love working hard and seeing results. But I also learned that working smarter—not harder—is the only way to build something that lasts.
Over time, I shifted from doing everything to doing what mattered most—and finding ways to help other photographers do the same. I started offering editing and virtual assistant services, working with photographers behind the scenes to help them free up their time and grow more sustainably. And I quickly realized: I love this just as much as shooting.
My background in education made it a natural fit. Teaching, supporting, and encouraging photographers lights me up. I’ve been where you are. I’ve figured out systems and shortcuts the hard way. And now, I want to pass that knowledge on.
What’s Coming Next: A Community and a Smarter Way to Grow
As my business evolved, a new idea started to take shape—something bigger than just one-on-one services. I started dreaming about building an app just for photographers, designed to take the guesswork out of marketing, simplify content creation, and offer true community support.
This app will use AI to help photographers create social media content from their own images, generate captions and hashtags, and even schedule posts. But it won’t stop there. I want it to be a hub for learning, collaboration, and connection—a space where photographers can find educational resources, mini courses, and tools that actually make their lives easier.
Because yes, I’m still obsessed with helping photographers grow. But now I want to make that growth easier, faster, and less overwhelming.
